Canadian trailer manufacturer to expand

May 29, 2002 12:00 PM

Trailtech Inc, a manufacturer of light and specialized trailers and flat deck truck bodies, has broken ground on a 22,000-sq-ft addition to its facility in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan.

The additional manufacturing and office space will create 20 full-time jobs in the local area, according to Keith Brown, chief executive officer of Montgomery-Brown, the parent company of Trailtech.

“This is our largest single expansion in the history of our company,” Brown said. “The expansion to our Gravelbourg operation is necessary for us to meet the increased demand for our product line.”

Trailtech was started in 1987 and relocated to Gravelbourg in 1988. Since then, the company has expanded the Gravelbourg complex three times.

Trailtech merged with an Alberta-based trailer manufacturer, Southland Trailer Corporation, in 2000. Trailtech and Southland have an extensive trailer dealership network in both Canada and the United States.
