Boyd Bros.' net income and revenue rises

Oct 25, 2002 12:00 PM

Boyd Bros. Transportation Inc. said that its third-quarter pre-tax income rose 106% and net income $115, though its operating revenues grew just 2%.

Aside from higher comparable operating revenues for the quarter, the company said its interim results reflected a profit rebound that continues the reversal from losses reported in late 2001 and early 2002.

"We are very pleased to report another quarter of strong profitability, continuing the favorable trends we saw last quarter," said president & CEO Gail B. Cooper.

He added that both of its divisions, Boyd Bros. and WTI, achieved higher sales and operating income in the third quarter compared with the same period last year.
