Bank of America donates three fire trucks to FDNY

In honor of three of its associates missing since the Sept. 11 attack on the World Trade Center, Bank of America has announced it is donating three new fire trucks to the New York City Fire Department (FDNY). The three pumper trucks, with a total value of $1 million, will begin to replace the more than 40 vehicles, including fire engines, ladder trucks, rescue vehicles, squad cars and ambulances lost by the FDNY in the attacks. The replacement cost of the vehicles has been placed at $47 million. More than 400 Bank of America associates were employed on four floors in the World Trade Center’s North Tower. "This donation in honor of our three missing fellow associates will help with the rebuilding effort in New York," said Bob Mandala, director of Team Bank of America. "We can't all volunteer in New York, but we can contribute in our own way, in our own communities."
