August truck sales up 14.9% from a year ago

Franchised dealers of U.S. truck manufacturers sold 918,029 units in August 2003 according to data published by Ward's Communications -- 14.9% above sales for the month a year ago. Class 7 showed the largest gain (27.7%, from 5,350 to 6,830), while Class 6 showed the largest decline (22.5%, from 4,850 to 3,761).
