Federal Reserve Executive to Speak at HD Dialogue

Heavy Duty Dialogue ’09, with the theme of The Commercial Vehicle Industry in Transition, features a domestic and global economic overview by William Strauss, senior economist and economic advisor for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
Strauss will focus his presentation on economic indicators and metrics such as monetary policy, credit markets, risk, inflation, and commodity pricing and their connection to the commercial vehicle industry. Also included in Strauss’s presentation are economic assessments for North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America economic markets for 2009 and beyond.
The conference program for HDD’09 also includes a legislative and regulatory discussion, a CEO panel on mega trends and strategy, an industry forecast defining the near and long term future for the industry, a high-level presentation on US energy policy, economic and environmental sustainability, and a discussion around the “developing storm” of a generationally diverse workforce.
“The commercial vehicle industry is rapidly evolving from a segmented country or regional market into an inter-related and global industry. Providing an overview of US and global economic viewpoint delivers a foundation for HDD ’09 attendees to better understand the potential impact on their businesses,” stated Timothy Kraus, president and COO of Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association.
Heavy Duty Dialogue '09 will be held at the Rosen Centre Hotel and the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009. HDD’09 immediately precedes Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week ’09.
