Jul 18, 2007 3:08 PM

PACCAR held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new engine plant near Columbus, Mississippi yesterday. The $400 million facility will include a 420,000-square-foot engine plant and technology center on a 400-acre site.

Construction will begin immediately and is due to be completed in 2009.

"This is a superb location, close to many of our North American truck assembly facilities, customers and supplier partners," said CEO Mark Pigott.
