NTEA Expands Green Truck Summit, Exhibits and Activities

Sep 17, 2008 11:00 AM

In response to growing demand across the many industries served by work trucks, the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) has intensified its focus on hybrid and alternative fuel vocational trucks and equipment at The Work Truck Show 2009.

The Work Truck Show 2009 is held in conjunction with the 45th Annual NTEA Convention, March 4-6, 2009, at the McCormick Place West Building in Chicago, IL. The Convention runs March 3-6.

“As North America’s largest work truck event, The Work Truck Show is uniquely positioned to bring together new hybrid and alternative fuel work trucks while also providing in-depth education about the latest ‘green’ technology and how it applies in the real world,” said Spencer Hinson, Work Truck Show 2009 Educational Content Committee chairman and president of Lodi Equipment (West Sacramento, CA).

The activities kick off with the Green Truck Summit, sponsored by International Truck, on Tuesday, March 3 from 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.. The Green Truck Summit provides up-to-date information for anyone interested in hybrid and alternative fuel options for work trucks, no matter what their level of experience with the technology. The Summit includes four general courses and 15 breakout sessions led by top industry and academic experts, as well as fleet managers providing real-world experience.

Topics include technology deployment, fuel utilization, fleet and vehicle integration and the cost justification of purchasing hybrids. These sessions guide fleet managers, equipment manufacturers and upfitters in determining how the rapid development of hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles will impact their businesses. To enable presenters to go into greater detail, many of the sessions have been expanded to 45 minutes or longer. A separate ticket is required to attend the Green Truck Summit, which is a Work Truck Show Special Session.

Online registration for The Work Truck Show 2009 opens Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008. For more information, visit www.ntea.com, or call 1-800-441-NTEA (6832).
