JOST-Werke GmbH and Daimler AG are in advanced negotiations on the acquisition of Mercedes-Benz TrailerAxleSystems. The acquisition of Mercedes-Benz TrailerAxleSystems by the JOST Group is to be completed in early 2015, subject to successful final negotiations and approval by the responsible anti-trust authorities.
Mercedes-Benz TrailerAxleSystems has been active in the production of axles for commercial vehicles for the European market since 1996. The JOST Group will further expand the business in future. The company is known as a pioneer in the use of disc brakes in the commercial vehicles segment. Parallel to the first truck fully equipped with disc brakes, the Actros, Mercedes-Benz launched the production of trailer axles equipped with disc brakes nearly 20 years ago. Today, Mercedes-Benz TrailerAxleSystems is one of Europe's largest producers of trailer axles.
