Long-time NATM Supporter Retires

Wells Cargo’s Jack Klepinger, a long-time National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) board and committee member, retired on Feb. 27 after 27 years with the company. During his tenure, he built and ran three plants in Ogden, Utah, Phoenix, Arizona, and Carbondale, Pennsylvania.

“I have really enjoyed serving on the board. It has been a wonderful experience working with such great people. Wells Cargo is firmly committed in its support of NATM,” said Klepinger.

Wells Cargo joined NATM in 1992 and Klepinger became a member of the NATM board a year later. He has served the association continuously since that time. Klepinger has served on numerous committees and held every office in the association. He most recently chaired the Membership Committee when the association became a 1,000+ member organization.

Klepinger has been actively involved in the trailer industry, serving on a number of committees for the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). He served as co-chair of the Surge Brake Coalition, as well as the Trailer Safety Industry Coalition (TSIC).

NATM has recognized Klepinger’s contributions by awarding him the Bill Bernhardt Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Trailer Industry in 2002. Upon his retirement, the NATM board recognized Klepinger for his 16 years of service to the association.

“Jack has been a valuable resource to NATM,” said Michael Terry, current president of NATM. “His involvement in the industry and connections with other industry associations has helped us develop important coalitions to unite the trailer industry. We will miss having him as a board member, but know we can continue to count on Jack and Wells Cargo in their support of NATM.”
