FMCSA To Host Webinar On Onboard Safety Systems

Jun 23, 2008 12:56 PM

On July 16, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) will co-host a webinar on the costs and benefits of onboard safety systems. This webinar marks the fifth in a series of ATRI-FMCSA co-hosted industry webinars designed to present FMCSA's latest research findings and provide peer-to-peer industry insights on onboard safety systems.

The July 16 event will highlight the practical cost/benefit outcomes identified in recent FMCSA/ATRI research on collision warning systems, lane departure warning systems and roll stability control systems.

In addition to the ROI analyses, the webinar will feature commentary and real-world experiences from Andrew Boyle, Executive Vice President of Boyle Transportation and Bryan Cook, Senior Technical Advisor for FedEx Freight. The "onboard safety systems" research, generated using actual carrier and insurance data, can provide important insight into the net impacts that onboard technologies play in reducing certain crash types.

Register by going to the FMCSA Web site and clicking on the heading "Costs and Benefits of Onboard Safety Systems." You will be emailed a confirmation within 24 hours of registration, as well as contact information for technical questions on the webinar or for special accommodations.

For technical questions on the webinar, contact the web conference coordinator at (202) 385-2375.
