Autogas Research & Technology Center Opens in North Carolina

Blossman Services, Inc., and Alliance AutoGas have opened the Autogas Research & Technology Center in Asheville, North Carolina.      

Blossman Services, Inc., and Alliance AutoGas, a national consortium of companies providing the only complete program for American fleets interested in shifting from gasoline to clean-burning propane autogas, have opened the Autogas Research & Technology Center in Asheville, North Carolina.       

The 6225-square-foot Autogas Research and Technology Center will focus on the development of alternative fueled engines.  In addition, it will be available to Alliance AutoGas fleet managers and certified conversion centers across the United States and Canada for training and educational opportunities.  This will be a one-of–a kind facility for Alliance AutoGas and Blossman Services to develop alternative fuel systems for vehicles.

The Autogas Research & Technology Center will produce all of its power on-site --40% from solar and 60% from a propane powered micro CHP (Combined Heat and Power) generation system.  The building features technology producing 68% emissions reduction versus centralized power generation. The microCHP system Is powered by reliable, abundant,   American-made propane supplemented with solar panels. This building is constructed and engineered to represent the “building of the future.”

The building will also house the Blossman Gas Appliance & Hearth Store, a 5,000-square-foot retail location for Blossman Gas.  Sixteen Blossman’s Asheville employees will be relocating to this new facility, where they will conduct customer service operations and provide customer assistance in the new showroom facilities.
