Accuride receives AME Manufacturing Excellence Award

Sept. 16, 2014

The Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) has awarded Accuride's Henderson Operations steel wheel manufacturing facility in Henderson, Kentucky a 2014 Manufacturing Excellence Award. An AME representative will visit the Accuride plant on Sept. 18 to present the award. The company will also be honored during the 2014 AME International Excellence Inside Conference, Nov. 10-14 in Jacksonville, Florida.

The AME Manufacturing Excellence Award acknowledges continuous improvement, best practices, creativity and innovation. The selection process begins when a company submits an extensive achievement report based on the AME Manufacturing Excellence Award evaluation criteria. Achievement reports are evaluated by the AME Award assessment team. For companies that score high enough in this achievement report review, a 1.5-2 day site visit is completed, during which a volunteer team of manufacturing practitioners validates the submitted achievement report.

Recipients of the Manufacturing Excellence Award are selected based on the combined results of the achievement report review and site visit feedback. Only a handful of applicants’ merit a site visit and approximately one third of the visits result in a site being recognized as an award recipient.
