Aug 4, 2006 12:23 PM

Tremcar Technologies has acquired Hutchinson Industries Canada Inc. Hutchinson, located in Toronto, was founded in 1918 by W.J. Hutchinson Sr. and specializes in truck tank manufacturing for the petroleum industry and other bi-products such as anti-freeze. Tremcar manufactures stainless steel tanker trailers mainly for the liquid food industry and chemical products.

The acquisition will help Tremcar, located in suburban Montreal, to increase its production by 25% and to offer every type of tanker trailer used in North America.

The Hutchinson facility is 60,000 square feet. Tremcar plans to add 25 jobs next year, taking the total employment to 105. Tremcar has invested in high-tech equipment and plans to reorganize production, drastically improving productivity. Hutchison also will provide repairs and service.
