SAE tackles heavy truck safety

Jul 8, 2004 11:08 PM

Two technical symposia on heavy truck safety and handling are being organized by SAE, the international organization of automotive engineers.

The first, “Enhancing Heavy Truck Safety, Security and Efficiency Through Technology,” will be held Dec. 1 and 2, 2004, in Phoenix, AZ. An agenda and other details are posted at http://www.sae.org/events/symposia/heavytruck.

Michelin will sponsor and host the second meeting, which will address heavy truck handling, dynamics and control. The two-day meeting will be held at Michelin’s proving grounds in Greenville, SC, in the first week of May 2005. For more details, go to http://www.sae.org/events/symposia/truckhdc/index.htm.

SAE is also looking for companies that would like to provide a truck for either demonstration event. If interested, contact Nancy Eiben, automotive program developer, SAE International via email: naneiben@sae.org.
