Wabash National reports 2Q, YTD results

Wabash National Corp has announced results for the three-and six-month periods ended June 30, 2006. Net sales for the quarter were $333.6 million, compared with $323.0 million for the same period a year ago. Net income for the quarter was $5.0 million, versus $49 million for the period a year earlier.
For the six months ended June 30, 2006, net sales were $595.7 million, compared with $579.1 million for 2005. Net income for the first six months of 2006 totaled $9.4 million, in contrast to $67.7 million a year ago. The acquisition of Transcraft, completed March 3, 2006, added $36 million and $38 million to second quarter and year-to-date sales, respectively.
As of June 30, 2006, backlog was about $594 million.
