Schmitz Cargobull Will Raise Trailer Prices

Apr 1, 2001 12:00 PM

Schmitz Cargobull AG is increasing prices for its semitrailer products and services by 2.8%. This is due to higher prices particularly for energy-intensive materials and parts — such as aluminum, plastics, and tires — and higher wage and nonwage labor costs. For more than four years, the German-based company has been able to keep prices stable, but now, despite optimization and rationalization of production and procurement processes, these prices no longer can be held.
