SBA raises small-business size standard

Feb 1, 2006 12:00 PM

The American Trucking Associations filed supportive comments to the Small Business Administration about raising the size standard for a small business in the trucking industry from $21.5 million in annual revenue to $23.5 million.

The SBA change is effective immediately. However, for purposes of federal procurement, this change applies to solicitations, except for noncompetitive section 8(a) contracts issued on or after Jan 5, 2006. For purposes of non-competitive section 8(a) contracting actions, the new size standards apply to offers of requirements accepted by SBA on or after Jan 5, 2006.
