Oshkosh Truck Acquires Ambulance Builder

Oshkosh Truck Corp, manufacturer of specialty trucks and truck bodies, has completed the purchase of 100% of the stock of Medtec Ambulance Corp. Medtec, a United States-based manufacturer of custom ambulances, produces ambulances for private patient transporters, fire departments, and public transporters. Medtec's division, American Fire & Rescue, manufactures and markets a line of rescue vehicles for the fire service.

Medtec will be included in Oshkosh's fire and emergency segment along with Pierce Manufacturing Inc, Oshkosh's fire apparatus manufacturing subsidiary.

Oshkosh is a Fortune 1000 company with products marketed under the Oshkosh, Pierce, and McNeilus brand names. The company is headquartered in Oshkosh WI and has annual sales of $1.324 billion.
