Holloway Co installs world's largest angle bending roll

Holloway Co Inc of Fort Worth TX says it recently installed the largest angle bending roll in the world.

The new Swedish-built Roundo Model R15S, weighing more than 150,000 pounds, will soon be on line and in full production, playing an important part in the firm's Angle and Section Rolling Division.

With technical assistance of Comeq Inc, the Baltimore MD-based national distributor of Roundo angle and plate bending rolls, Holloway surveyed the demands of the market for rolled heavy structural sections. The machines available at the time of the study were simply not large enough.

After discussions with Roundo factory design engineers, Holloway became the international launch customer for the Model R15S, with capacity to roll 40" beams the easy way; 30" beams the hard way (X-X axis); any size angle, channel, and structural tube; and up to 24" pipe.
