Accuride Plans to Restructure Operations

Accuride Corp plans to restructure its light-wheel operations and close its Columbia TN facility. The firm will consolidate production of light wheels in Columbia into its other facilities.
Consolidation of operations should be completed by third-quarter 2002. Accuride will maintain production in Columbia until all orders can be filled through production at other facilities. Currently, Columbia employs about 60 persons.
“While Columbia met our expectations operationally, market dynamics make it no longer feasible for us to manufacture single light wheels in a stand-alone facility,” said Bill Greubel, Accuride president and chief executive officer.
