AAIA selects firm to analyze pay-on-scan

Jul 1, 2003 12:00 PM

The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) has picked Prime Consulting Group Inc to conduct a study and analyze the impact of pay-on-scan (POS) on the aftermarket.

Fifteen consulting firms, ranging from small aftermarket specialists to large multinational management organizations, were contacted to submit proposals. AAIA received proposals from 10 firms. Selection criteria focused on knowledge of POS, knowledge of the aftermarket, access to aftermarket executives, and the absence of a conflict of interest.

The scope of the study will include a review of research from other industries, interviews with AAIA members at all levels, and an overall analysis on functional components and their impact on each segment of the aftermarket. The full study will be given to AAIA members and an executive summary will be available to others.
