Transcraft will idle platform trailer plant

Sep 1, 2007 12:00 PM

Transcraft Corp, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wabash National Corp, intends to idle its Mount Sterling KY platform trailer production facility before the end of 2007, to better match its manufacturing capacity with customer demand.

Depending on future order rates, production activities at the Mount Sterling facility will be idled before the end of the year. The company will evaluate platform trailer demand and order placement levels when considering the timing and need for reopening the facility. The Mount Sterling facility currently employs approximately 110 associates. The main Transcraft platform trailer plant in Anna IL will remain open and continue to produce trailers.
