MVP qualification changes

The National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) announces new criteria for its Member Verification Program beginning July 1, 2008.
To qualify, NTEA distributor and manufacturer members that upfit must meet these outlined criteria and submit documentation verifying they meet this criteria. Effective July 1, 2008, the new requirements are that they must qualify in five of six of these criteria:
Manufacture Registration (required criteria)
Vehicle Certification ( required criteria)
Product Liability Insurance (required criteria)
Certified Employees (NEW required criteria as of July 1, 2008)
And one of the two optional criteria:
5. Quality Assurance Program
6. Safety Program (new criteria)
Effective July 1, 2008, manufacturers (those who manufacture a product but do not install bodies or equipment requiring an Intermediate, Final, or Altered State Certification Label) must qualify in five of six of these criteria:
Product Liability Insurance
Certified Employees (new required criteria as of July 1, 2008)
Installation and Operating Instructions (new required criteria as of July 1, 2008)
Warranty Program (New required criteria as of July 1, 2008)
And one of the two optional criteria:
5. Quality Assurance Program
6. Safety Program (new criteria)
