D-TEC wins Trailer Innovation Award

Dutch trailer manufacturer D-TEC won The Trailer Innovation Award 2013 in the “Chassis” category. The trailer producer received the award for the Flexitrailer Traction. A panel of experts chose the Traction due to the simplicity, the light weight and the optimum weight distribution with a loaded 20ft container.
The Trailer Innovation Award is a bi-annual, international industry award that promotes innovative trailer developments. The jury consists of a panel of ten representative of European trade magazines.
According to D-TEC product manager Elbert Folmer, the Flexitrailer Traction facilitates the transportation of a 20-ft container. ‘You can simply load the 20ft container onto the back and still have enough traction on the drive axle. And this without shifting the 20ft container.”
The basic version of the Flexitrailer Traction weighs approximately 4.5 tons, approximately 1,100 kilograms lighter than comparable container chassis. The Traction also can be used to transport 30-ft and 40-ft containers.
