Dec 1, 2003 12:00 PM

Mega Manufacturing Inc, Hutchinson KS-based producer of the Piranha line of metal fabrication equipment, has acquired the Bertsch Co. The acquisition of Cambridge City IN-based Bertsch expands Piranha's manufactured line of metal fabrication machines to include bending rolls. According to Mega, Piranha is now the United States' sole manufacturer of a complete line of ironworkers, press brakes, shears, and plate and section bending rolls.

Since 1879, Bertsch has provided machines for nearly every application, including bending rolls for producing nuclear submarine and power plant equipment and for rolling offshore drilling jackets. Bertsch currently produces a line of heavy-duty production rolls in both three- and four-roll configurations, as well as section rolls and custom-designed machines.
