Certified Welding Supervisor program begun

Oct 1, 2005 12:00 PM

The American Welding Society's (AWS) Certified Welding Supervisor (CWS) Program provides engineers, managers, and designers the opportunity to reduce welding costs and increase profitability for their employers.

This program identifies a body of knowledge all welding supervisors should know and understand to increase productivity and improve weld quality.

The CWS program is a result of a study conducted by AWS and the National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP) that found training welding supervisors reduced weld metal volume, arc time per weldment, rework and scrap, and work effort and motion and delay time.

Visit www.aws.org/certification for more information or to download the NSRP study.
