Webcast series on practical lean manufacturing

Mar 16, 2006 9:21 AM

The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, Intl. (FMA), announces a series of three FabCasts (Webcasts) on the subject of practical lean manufacturing. The program's purpose is to help cut waste and optimize production in fabrication operations.

Participants will hear industry expert Dick Kallage of KDC & Associates Ltd. speak on implementing a Practical Lean approach to high-performance manufacturing for fabrication and processing-intensive companies. The schedule is as follows:

Most Lean training focuses on companies that are assemblers and integrators of high-volume, standard products with relatively low variation. The vast majority of manufacturers, however, do not fit into this category, and the methodologies and implementations described are often beyond their resources and time horizons.

The Practical Lean approach brings the benefits of Lean Manufacturing to the smaller and mid-sized manufacturer without requiring the massive investments in time, money, and people that traditional lean often demands.

FabCasts are interactive Webcasts in which participants log on to a Web site for the visual aspect of the program and dial in on their telephone for the audio.

Registration is available at www.fmanet.org, or by calling 815-399-8775. The fee per individual FabCast is $99 for FMA/TPA members and $129 for nonmembers. Or save when registering for the series of three FabCasts at $250 for FMA/TPA members and $350 for nonmembers.
