This recently purchased 50,000-sq-ft building is the now home for the new equipment and accessory division of Phenix Truck Bodies & Equipment. But that's only half of the story. The new building is a mirror image of the structure where Phenix has been manufacturing custom bodies for years. Across the street from one another, the buildings are the same size. Both are built on five acres.
The new Phenix upfit facility formally was used by a plastic recycling company. Phenix added overhead doors for improved vehicle access, electrical upgrades, and other improvements to make it suitable for van interior installations and other truck equipment operations.
Part of the facility is used for inventory. Phenix is now a warehouse distributor for Buyers Products and Weatherguard.
Phenix remains a custom manufacturer of service bodies, but also modifies Knapheide bodies to meet specifications that are particularly popular in California.
By doubling its available floor space, Phenix now has room for a 3,000-sq-ft display area.
Phenix has catered to utility companies throughout its history, delivering high-spec, purpose-built service bodies.
Leonardo Cornejo works on a Load 'n' Go removable service body.
