Chrysler Group LLC has selected Dejana Truck Equipment as a “ship-thru” provider for the new Ram Promaster City.

The announcement came as they unveiled Ram’s new entry into the small van segment, and provided details of their collaboration with Fiat to bring the vehicles in through the Port of Baltimore. As an authorized ship-thru, Dejana would then be able to receive the units, install interior van packages to order, and distribute completed vehicles to Chrysler Dealers in the US.

The two-seat cargo version of the Ram Promaster City will be assembled at the modern TOFAS Plant in Bursa, Turkey, by the end of 2014. Dealers will then be able to order from a variety of interior packages that Dejana will install at their facility that is close to the Port of Baltimore.

Dejana will also help maintain an inventory of commercial units that can be upfitted and distributed to dealerships and fleet customers in the US. Dealerships are expected to take delivery of the units in early 2015.

Dejana has been a commercial truck supplier since 1957. Headquartered in Kings Park, NY, its Truck & Utility Division has manufacturing locations in Kings Park, NY, Huntington, NY, Smithfield, RI, Baltimore, MD, and Cinnaminson, NJ. In addition, Dejana’s Cargo and Van Body Division, located in Baltimore, MD, manufactures a full line of dry freight and van body equipment for nearly any chassis requirement.
