Oct 8, 2007 1:22 PM

Preliminary Class 8 new net orders were 11,600 in September, down 29% year-over-year (vs. down 26% year-over-year in August), according to A.C.T.

Class 5-7 orderw were 11,200, down 38% year-over-year (vs. down 38% year-over-year in August).

“Arguably, Class 5-7 orders are a ‘purer’ measure of economically derived demand, given that there was a smaller pre-buy in Class 5-7 (although we do think there was a ‘pre-build’),” Bear Stearns said.
