Schmitz To Take Transport In-House

Jun 18, 2008 12:27 PM

Schmitz Cargobull will do its own transport and just got its first new Iveco Stralis 44-ton tractor unit. The new truck will move trailers and parts from ports in northeast England to the Schmitz Cargobull factory in Harelaw, County Durham.

The firm previously used contractors to collect and deliver both spares and new trailers in the UK and says moving the transport back in-house should give more control and flexibility.

North East Truck & Van did the deal, with the Stralis on a three-year operating lease through Iveco Capital, with servicing done at the dealer's Blaydon depot.
