Kenworth brochure highlights its medium-duty hybrid vehicles

Nov 1, 2009 12:00 PM

Kenworth has produced a new brochure on its T270 Class 6 and T370 Class 7 diesel-electric hybrid trucks and tractors.

These medium-duty hybrid trucks are available for pick-up and delivery, utility, and service applications. Kenworth hybrid tractors, available up to 55,000-lb GCW, are for local haul applications, including beverage, general freight, and grocery distribution.

The six-page brochure features a detailed page on hybrid specifications, including power, drivetrain, starting and charging, transmission, frame, axle, suspension, brakes, wheels, tires, fuel tanks, battery boxes, bumpers, cab, hood, interior, and special equipment and options.

Purchasers of Kenworth hybrid trucks, equipped with a PACCAR PX-6 engine and the Eaton diesel-electric hybrid power system, may qualify for a maximum federal tax credit of $6,000 (Class 6) and $12,000 (Class 7). Truck operators who purchase new Kenworth medium-duty hybrid trucks and tractors, then permanently remove an equal number of aged existing diesel-fueled trucks from the marketplace in exchange, are eligible to apply for grant money available under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Contact a Kenworth dealer to obtain the brochure.
