Robert Hegbloom will take over as head of Chrysler’s Group Ram Truck division, replacing Reid Bigland, who will become chief of the Alfa Romeo Brand for the NAFTA [North American Free Trade Agreement] region for Chrysler.

Bigland will also retain his role as head of U.S. Sales for Chrysler as well as president and CEO of Chrysler Canada.

Both Hegbloom and Bigland will serve on Chrysler’s NAFTA Leadership Team, with Bigland also maintaining his role on the Fiat Chrysler Group Executive Council (GEC).

“Reid has been working intensely with Bob in the establishment of the Ram Truck brand after separation from Dodge, and it is appropriate that Bob now be given the opportunity to continue and intensify the work started by Reid,” noted Sergio Marchionne, chairman and CEO of Chrysler as well as CEO of Italy’s Fiat S.p.A., Chrysler’s parent company.

“Both Reid and Bob have grown tremendously as leaders in the last five years, and the time has come for them to have expanded leadership roles,” Marchionne added.

Hegbloom, who joined Chrysler in 1986, previously served as the director of the Ram Truck division.
