EPA's SmartWay Certifies Peterbilt's Model 384

Apr 2, 2009 1:08 PM

Peterbilt Motors Co. has announced that its Model 384 truck will receive certification by EPA's SmartWay program. The new certification will be the third Peterbilt has received from the EPA for supplying clean, fuel-efficient vehicles.

Landon  Sproull, Peterbilt chief engineer, made the announcement at the special "Go Green" event the company is hosting in California with Rush Enterprises to help fleets to learn more about hybrid trucks and alternative fuel vehicles first-hand.

"Peterbilt takes pride in its products and facilities, its environmental leadership," Sproull said. The 384, like all SmartWay-certified vehicles, must be properly spec'd to qualify for the certification, including aerodynamic devices, single-wide tires and other components.
