May 25, 2005 12:42 PM

Kenworth Truck Company’s manufacturing plant in Chillicothe, Ohio, recently celebrated the production of its historic 250,000th truck, a new 2006 Model Kenworth T600 with a new cab interior.

The 250,000th truck is an aerodynamic, fuel-efficient Kenworth T600 with 72” AeroCab sleeper for Halvor Lines Inc. of Superior, Wis.

“We’re proud to achieve the production of 250,000 trucks at the Kenworth plant in Chillicothe,” said Tony McQuary, Kenworth assistant general manager for operations. “This significant milestone is a tribute to the hard work, dedication, and strong commitment to quality that Kenworth employees at Chillicothe have shown since the plant was opened in 1974.”

Halvor Lines operates 235 Kenworth trucks and hauls refrigerated units and vans containing food and paper products to the East and West Coasts and also runs flatbeds to transport construction materials. The company plans to purchase 100 Kenworth T600s this year.

The Chillicothe plant is Kenworth’s largest manufacturing facility. In addition to the T600, the plant produces the Kenworth W900, T800 and T2000 models.
