Feb 22, 2006 4:27 PM, From Fleet Owner

Hino Motors Ltd. is considering a plant to assemble trucks in Canada, which would make it the first Japanese company to build trucks in that country, according to an AFX News report.

A Hino spokesperson said that the consideration is part of a North American business strategy to expand and localize in the region.

Currently Hino is rolling out trucks to the North American market from parent company Toyota Motor Corp.'s plant in Long Beach, CA.
