Benson International, in conjunction with Workforce WV, has instituted an on-the-job training program for those with a strong desire for a welding career but little or no experience.

In the limits of a qualified aluminum welding pool to hire from, Benson established this training by cooperating with Workforce WV and obtaining state grants.

After 30-days of training or upon successful completion of the welding test, the trainee will move into the position of a Welder II. All equipment and supplies, including welding helmets, leather gloves, safety equipment, and all necessary welding materials, will be provided during training.

Benson also has helped sponsor a 40-hour welding class at West Virginia University at Parkersburg for the past several years. The firm helps supply materials to the college and supports the class in hopes to supply qualified welders to the Mid-Ohio Valley, and ideally, to Benson.
