Wabash National Corporation today announced confirmation of an agreement with Contract Freighters, Inc. (CFI) to obtain 1,050 DuraPlate HD dry vans to be produced in 2006. The agreement includes an option for an additional 950 trailers in 2007. Trailer production is expected to begin in May.

Wabash National's DuraPlate HD trailer combines the proven performance of the DuraPlate composite sidewall with an innovative base plate design. The heavy-duty base plate, which eliminates the need for an interior scuff liner, provides an additional 22 inches of lower sidewall protection, where it is estimated that 90 percent of trailer damage occurs.

"We evaluated multiple trailers and are impressed with the integrated technology Wabash National's DuraPlate HD model has to offer," said Bruce Stockton, Vice President - Maintenance for CFI. "To us, it is the future trailer in our fleet and the industry."

"CFI is one of North America's premier truckload carriers," said Bill Greubel, Wabash National Chief Executive Officer. "The industry's most successful carriers continue to adopt Wabash National's DuraPlate HD trailer."
