Wabash National Corporation announced the appointment of Richard J. Giromini to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of Wabash National Corporation and to the company's Board of Directors.

Previously, Giromini had served as WNC's Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. William P. Greubel remains in his position as the Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Board of Directors.

“Dick was a key contributor in the turnaround of our business,” Greubel said. “During the last two years he has successfully assumed increasing levels of leadership responsibility. The timing of the appointments and the fit of the role is ideal as our critical business initiatives are progressing. I am very confident we will achieve our goals under Dick's stewardship."

The appointment of Giromini brings Wabash National Corporation's board to nine members. Seven of the directors qualify as independent directors under the listing standards of the New York Stock Exchange, Inc. and the Company's Corporate Governance Guidelines. With the exception of the Executive Committee, all of the Board of Director committees continue to be comprised of only independent directors.
