Total deliveries of trucks from the Volvo Group’s four truck companies, which now include Nissan Diesel, were down 10% through May, the company announced.

The decline was the result of a 59% drop in sales in North America. Outside of North America and Western Europe, deliveries were exceptionally strong: up 91% in Asia, 54% in Eastern Europe, 31% in South America, and 26% in the Middle East.

Deliveries from Nissan Diesel only include the period April to May 2007, since the company was consolidated as of April 1. Excluding Nissan Diesel, deliveries amounted to 76,635, a decrease by 17%, compared with the year-earlier period. The Volvo Group includes Mack, Nissan Diesel, Renault Trucks, and Volvo Trucks.
