Total deliveries of trucks from the Volvo Group’s three truck companies decreased 17% through April this year, compared with the year-earlier period. Deliveries from Mack were down 54%, while deliveries from Renault Trucks were down 10% and Volvo Trucks decreased 8%.

Mack deliveries through April totaled 5,823. As expected, demand continues to be significantly lower compared with the very high level a year ago. The pre-buy that took place in advance of the new emissions regulations has saturated the market with pre-US’07 products. Mack’s deliveries also reflect production-related disturbances experienced by the Group’s North American truck operations in transitioning to US’07 products.

Volvo Trucks’ deliveries during the period January-April amounted to 30,423 vehicles. The decrease in deliveries is fully attributable to North America, where the new emission legislation continues to be visible in the delivery statistics. All other regions are showing higher deliveries. Europe (+16%), and especially Eastern Europe (+67%), continues to show strong delivery figures. Deliveries in South America (+32%) are also strong.

Renault deliveries through April totalled 24,290 trucks. This takes into account the non-availability of the Renault Mascott Euro 4 which is due for deliveries at mid year. Deliveries of the Masccott during the year-earlier period amounted to almost 4,700 vehicles.
