AB Volvo said worldwide truck deliveries from its Renault, Mack and Volvo Trucks holdings from January through October 2004 posted a 22% increase over the same period last year. Global deliveries totaled to 152,801 units.

In North America, AB Volvo delivered 39,101 units, which represents a solid 37% increase over the same period last year.

Mack deliveries comprised nearly half of the deliveries for the region, at 18,428 units. This figure marks a 30% jump over year-ending October deliveries in 2003. Volvo Trucks delivered 20,471 trucks to North America — a robust 46% growth from the same period last year. Renault deliveries totaled 202 units.

“In October we delivered 19,000 trucks, which is the highest number so far,” said Volvo AB CEO Leif Johansson. “Our industrial system is working well and we are capable of meeting the strongly rising demand.” Deliveries are the trucks that were either transferred to dealer inventories or delivered directly to customers.
