The management of Tuthill Transport Technologies (TTT) has reversed its decision to close TTT's Springfield and Mount Vernon MO operations in 2001. The original decision to close the two facilities was announced Sept 20, 2000.

Jay Tuthill, president of Tuthill Corp, said, "The decision to close the Springfield and Mount Vernon operations was based on a set of criteria which was incomplete. Subsequent review of the facts by TTT management and senior corporate leadership led to the conclusion that we would be a stronger company, better able to serve our customers, if all of the facilities remain in operation. The realities of business, however, leave us no choice but to `right-size' TTT operations to reflect the significant downturn in our markets."

Tom Carmazzi, senior vice-president at Tuthill, will serve as TTT acting president until a permanent replacement is found. Former TTT executives David Dull, president, and John Gleason, vice-president/finance, have resigned.
