Retail truck sales continued to recover in July, according to figures compiled by Ward’s Automotive Group.
Truck dealers sold 550,770 trucks during July, up 9% from the previous month and 19% more than were sold in July 2009. Trucks with gross vehicle weight ratings in excess of 10,000 pounds performed even better—up 46% from July 2009.
Through the first seven months of 2010, dealers sold 206,949 trucks with GVW ratings above 10,000 pounds, up 21% from the corresponding period of 2009.
