Truck production increases in Mexico

Mexican manufacturing plants produced 7,492 trucks and buses in May, up 14% from May 2005, according to Mexico’s Asociación Nacional de Productores de Autobuses, Camiones y Tractocamiones.

Mexican manufacturing plants produced 7,492 trucks and buses in May, up 14% from May 2005, according to Mexico’s Asociación Nacional de Productores de Autobuses, Camiones y Tractocamiones.

Heavy truck production was up 18% during the same period and increased 16% for the first five months of 2006.

So far in 2006, production has exceded year-earlier levels every month.

Export sales have been strong, ANPACT reported—up 18% in May and 9% year-to-date.
