Truck Product Conference offerings

THE NATIONAL TRUCK EQUIPMENT ASSOCIATION welcomed a record 700 attendees at its annual Truck Product Conference September 18-20 at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Michigan.

Ten leading chassis manufacturers presented new product updates and vehicle displays:

Dodge discussed the all-new Ram 3500 Chassis Cab and highlighted specialty equipment options for the Ram 3500 box-delete models, Caravan/Grand Caravan cargo vans, and Dodge Sprinter lineup. The commercial vehicle team provided updates on the brand's commercial program and lineup and expanded on strategic plans for future growth.

Ford Commercial Truck presented information on the 2007 Ford F-650 and F-750 Super Duty and on the 2007 Ford LCF. Company representatives discussed the vehicles' styling, comfort, and convenience features. In addition, attendees learned about standard offerings and available options.

Freightliner Trucks detailed new cab and chassis enhancements for its 2007 medium- and heavy-duty product lines. Session attendees also learned the latest information on impacts to the cab, chassis, and body due to 2007 emissions engines.

GM & Isuzu Commercial Trucks gave updates on 2007 light-duty and commercial products and highlighted the new series of Sierra and Silverado trucks launching in the fall of 2007 and the first quarter of 2008.

International Truck and Engine Corporation presented the latest updates on 2007 emissions, sharing information from design engineers and experts and relaying feedback about what to expect in the coming year. The company also showcased new technology, including the updated PowerPack 3 feature, AWARE Vehicle Intelligence enhancements, and Diamond Logic Builder tools.

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America Inc provided updates on 2007 emissions regulations and its 2008 model year product lineup from an engineering perspective. Company representatives also highlighted its body builders guide Web site accessible from www.mitfuso.com.

Sterling Truck Corporation presented 2007 emissions regulations chassis changes, exhaust configurations, option launch schedule, mid-chassis component packaging, and engine offerings.

Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc unveiled long bed versions of its all-new 2007 Tundra full-size pickup, giving attendees the opportunity to obtain technical data and examine the Tundra Long Bed work truck in detail five months prior to the vehicle's launch.

Hino Motors Sales USA Inc introduced its 2008 model year Environmental Protection Agency 2007 emission-compliant truck and announced several new chassis-specific options. In addition, Hino provided technical data and answered chassis-related questions.
