About three years ago, the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) introduced three certification tests (El, E2, and E3) specifically for truck equipment technicians. The tests were developed in a joint effort between ASE and the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA).

From Sept 30 through Oct 2, 2003, ASE will conduct an update workshop for the E2 test (Truck Equipment Electrical/Electronic Systems Installation and Repair).

The purposes of the E2 update workshop are to:

  • Review and modify, if necessary, the existing task list and test specifications.

  • Review previously written questions that performed poorly when pretested.

  • Write new questions for the test pool.

NTEA is looking for 12-16 practicing truck equipment technicians and industry experts willing to volunteer their time and expertise in order to update the E2 test. Volunteers should have good written and verbal communication skills and need to be proficient and knowledgeable in the installation and repair of truck equipment electrical/electronic systems in commercial trucks, truck bodies, and truck-mounted equipment.

The workshop will be held at the Days Hotel and Conference Center, 2200 Centreville Rd, Herndon VA 20170; phone 703-471-6700. To participate, phone Bob Clark at 703-669-6623 or e-mail [email protected] for complete details.
