Trailmobile Trailer LLC has surrendered possession of its Liberal KS trailer manufacturing plant, according to Toby Miller, city manager of Liberal. Miller said the company turned the facility over to the city September 12 after default of its lease.
“We are looking for another tenant,” Miller said. “The facility could be used for other applications, but it is a state-of-the-art refrigerated trailer manufacturing plant.” He said state and local incentives are available.
Trailmobile opened the $22-million facility in 1999. It includes a 235,000-square-foot building on a 50-acre site. Sid Kulek, former executive vice-president for Trailmobile, has been retained by Liberal to maintain the plant and equipment.
