Jack Foate, 43-year veteran of Utility Trailer Mfg Co, has retired. Foate, who began his career at Utility Steel Foundry in 1959, most recently worked for the trailer producer as director of purchasing. He intends to serve as a transportation industry consultant, initially with T C International.

Federal Signal Corp has appointed Harold Pinto the new president of the Fire Rescue Group. He comes to Federal Signal from Bridgeport Machines, where he recently served as president.

MGS Inc has appointed James E Fiant division manager of the firm's Power Products Division. Formerly employed by MGS from 1981 to 1991 on the product development staff, he returns to the company after serving with the fleet management departments of both GPU and PECO Energy.

Eagle Lift has named Kent Roper national sales representative. He has 20 years' experience in manufacturing and metalworking, and serving with distributor networks.

Omaha Standard Inc has appointed Jerry Bollard north central regional sales manager for Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky. He previously worked as sales manager for a truck wrecker producer.
