Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp has appointed Robert E McDowell president and chief executive officer of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America Inc (MFTA).

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp has appointed Robert E McDowell president and chief executive officer of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America Inc (MFTA). Most recently executive vice-president and chief operating officer, he replaces Isao Toda, who will return to Japan to become president of Chiba Mitsubishi Fuso.

Michael E Delaney will join Freightliner's Executive Committee as senior vice-president of marketing, a newly created position. Most recently, he has been a partner in two Greensboro NC-based marketing firms and served as vice-president — commercial operations, for Unifi. John Merrifield, senior vice-president — Sterling and Western Star Trucks, will become senior vice-president — distribution for Freightliner LLC. Mark Lampert, senior vice-president — Freightliner Trucks, will also direct development of sales for the Sterling and Western Star brands, as well as for the Detroit Diesel on-highway engine business unit and the company's proprietary components sales. He will also oversee the company's used-truck operations managed by the Freightliner Market Development Corp business unit.

Heil Environmental has promoted Bob McHugh to director of customer support and chief quality officer, Richard Mills to director of engineering, Tom Price to product development engineering manager, Eric Evans to operations improvement manager, Dan Rosen is now director of key accounts, Shannon Harrop has been named director of product management, and George Paturalski has the new role of corporate director of risk management. McHugh was previously operations manager of Heil's Parts Central. Mills most recently was director of process improvement engineering and CQO. Price had been an R&D engineer in Alabama. Evans previously was manufacturing process manager. Rosen previously was director of product management for Allied Waste Industries, and Harrop had served as the national account manager for Allied. Paturalski served in Heil's parts, marketing, and customer service areas. Wayne Smith, vice-president of global operations, will retire next year after more than 33 years of service. Mark Keller, vice-president of engineering, left Heil in June after more than 15 years of service to work full-time in running a family-owned business. Bill Nehrkorn, vice-president and general counsel, will retire next year after more than 32 years with Heil.

Beall Corp has hired Daniel J Binswanger to serve as California regional vice-president. With more than 18 years of trucking industry experience, he most recently served as chief executive officer and chairman of the board of WMB Transportation, remaining in this capacity until the sale of WMB in January 2005. Beall has hired Gordon S Groshong as vice-president of product development. He returns to Beall after serving with Walker Stainless Equipment most recently as district sales manager.

Randy Scott has rejoined Benson International Inc as sales coordinator at the firm's Meyersdale PA manufacturing facility. He most recently served with J&J Truck Bodies in Somerset PA.

Michael Cherry has joined JerrDan Corp as the factory support representative for Florida. He most recently was a towing equipment sales representative for King Automotive.
